Dr. Olbrich grew up on a dairy farm in Harvard, Illinois and still enjoys showing her dairy cattle. She graduated from Illinois State University with a major in biology and minor in secondary education. In 2007, Dr. Olbrich graduated veterinary school from University of Wisconsin-Madison receiving the Duland Orthopedic award for her aptitude in orthopedic rotations.
She joined Christensen Animal Hospital in June of 2007 and worked here until June of 2011. Dr. Olbrich had always loved educating clients and was contacted and hired by Abbott Animal Health as a veterinary medical liaison. Dr. Olbrich gained a great wealth of knowledge working with experts in the field of anesthesia, pain management, diabetes, oncology, and fluid therapy during her time with Abbott. She was nominated “Veterinary Liaison of the Year” in 2012 and made a TV appearance on Designing Pet Spaces educating on diabetes management.
Dr. Olbrich has spoken at several state wide veterinary technician conferences on the topics of diabetes, osteoarthritis, feline pain management, and fluid therapy. While at Abbott, she became very interested in pain management and has decided to continue that focus in her practice by becoming certified in veterinary medical acupuncture for both small and large animals. Additionally, Dr. Olbrich enjoys internal medicine, preventative medicine, and geriatric care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Olbrich enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and her two cats (Jake and Elwood). She enjoys working out, cheering for the Wisconsin Badgers, and doing acupuncture on her pet cows and cats.
