Jared Cohen, DVM

Dr. Jared Cohen grew up not far from Christensen Animal Hospital in the northwest suburb of Wheeling, IL. He received both his undergraduate degree in Cellular and Structural Biology and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then completed a rotating small animal internship at Oregon State University.  Dr. Cohen spent three years in small animal practice in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and then worked the next 12 years in the Lakeview area in Chicago before joining the team at Christensen Animal Hospital in 2025.

Dr. Cohen’s professional interests include surgery, ophthalmology, endoscopy, and oncology. He enjoys counseling and educating pet families on their loved one’s health.

Dr. Cohen enjoys time with his wife, Anne, and two children, Hazel and Levi. They like to bake, bike, and run together. They currently have three cats, Sheba, Pete, and Radar, pictured with Dr. Cohen.
